Macatawa Dog Training board and train program is our most time efficient, effective and convenient type of training. This intensive training that is designed to focus specifically on obedience and elimination of behavioral issues. Your dog will stay with us for a period of 3 days to 4 weeks*, which allows our professional trainers – some of the best dog trainers in West Michigan - to work your dog throughout their entire stay. You can think of this as a personalized “doggie boot camp” where we can constantly customize our training specifically to your dog’s needs, your goals and the length of their stay. *length of your stay is determined in your evaluation.

Here at Macatawa Dog Training, we understand that consistency and time are key components to training. Our Board and Train program is an immersive training experience that gives all parties involved the space needed to provide that time and consistency.
Over the course of 10 days your pup will learn basic commands through training that has been tailored to their learning style. This personalization allows our trainer the ability to provide clear expectations to your pup and gives your pup the guidance and time they need to learn. The combination of clear expectations, guidance and time provides a valuable reset to their physical and mental energy. As a benefit of this reset, they will also learn impulse control and therefore decrease their attention seeking behaviors and increase their patience.
On the completion of the program, this information will be passed on to you, the owner. Our trainer will teach you the commands taught to your pup and will help guide you and your pup into a seamless transition back into life at home.

Stay and Train
Stay and Train
Our Stay and Train option is more custom to your dogs needs! This program is a minimum of 3 days and you get to choose the commands your dog needs the most help with.
This also includes our unique program that helps reset your dog's pent up energy level, mental stimulation and overall behavior. This program includes a free private go-home lesson to go over the things your dog learned throughout the program.
Duration: 3 - 5 days

Refresher course for previously trained dogs that need a touch up on their trained skills. This Option is on a case by case basis, dependent on your dog’s behavioral issues and your training goals!

Macatawa Dog Training Puppy Board and Train is designed for puppies aging from 4 months to 8 months. We know this is the most crucial stage of their mental development, so we want to implement reinforcing desired behaviors and avoid bad ones. Puppies are growing, developing and learning so quickly that every experience during this young age is of extreme importance. Delaying training and socialization can mean missed opportunities for your puppy to learn how you would like them to behave. Think of this as “puppy boot camp” for both you and your puppy. It will give you a head start in training, socialization, and confidence building.
